OSIF has partnered with the Snakebite Film Festival to bring an exciting film contest to the Okanagan. Between January 11th-16th, 2024 teams had 5 days to write, shoot and edit a short film. Much like a traditional 48 hour film festival, the teams were given a line of dialogue, a prop, a genre, and a character to come up with a unique and creative story to produce within 5 days.

Our resulting film, “Game Knight,” was a testament to our teamwork and perseverance. Despite battling -25°C temperatures that caused our camera to freeze up a couple of times, we soldiered on and got the job done.

For me, wearing multiple hats as the writer, director, cinematographer, and editor was a challenge, but ultimately a rewarding experience. And working alongside friends made the process all the more enjoyable.

In the end, “Game Knight” was our contribution to the event—a concise, creative piece that showcased our skills as filmmakers in the Okanagan.
